Getting out of your own way

There is a phase doing the rounds at the moment which is all around getting out of our own way – this refers to those moments when we get a creative idea and rather than just producing it, we either talk ourselves out of doing it (remembering how someone once said we weren’t very good at something, or feeling ‘who am I to do this?’), or find yourself putting your energies elsewhere like housework, family, or Facebook scrolling.

The procrastinating and distractions are part of our ego trying to protect us from putting our true authentic selves out in the open – the ego is scared for us.  It worries about what people might think, or say – it is developed during our formative years to help us whilst we are developing our personality, but it is time for us to reclaim our power back from the ego.  Thanking it for looking after us for so well for so long, sending it love, whilst saying “I’ve got this”.

The public is much more open minded than it was even 10yrs ago, people are ready to hear and see what you have to offer.  We owe it to ourselves and the people that are looking for others to be our true authentic selves.

If you catch yourself standing in your own way ask these questions:

  • If I do this activity what is the worst thing that could happen – how would I feel if that thing happened?
  • What am I scared of?
  • How will I feel if I don’t do this thing I feel nudged to do/create?
  • Am I being heard back by a belief that I’m not good enough?

Once you realise that you can handle the worse thing that could happen, it will free you up, equally if you realise you are being held back by a limiting belief you can turn your attention and intension to clearing that belief. Once it is in plain sight it will be difficult for that limiting belief to continue to hold you back – unless you let it. 

Limiting beliefs are negative thoughts patterns that hold you back and bring your vibration down, there include beliefs like:

  • I’m not good enough
  • I don’t belong here
  • People will laugh at me
  • I can’t handle this
  • I don’t deserve this
  • I don’t have enough time/money/support/experience
  • Someone has already done this better (lack beliefs)

Some beliefs are harder to shift than others, so people do reach out to a healing facilitator for support during this process.

You can do some work yourself, by visualising a violet column on light coming down around you and the limiting belief, see the limiting belief being reduced in size to the extent that you can blow it away from you; you can invoke on Archangel Michael and command that he dissolve any cords or attachments between you and the limiting belief; or alternatively you can breath into the limiting belief, feeling where in your body it was sitting and then breath it out, releasing it from your body and energy.
